Beard oil is best applied to your face first thing in the morning as part of your getting ready to go out regime. Usually just after you wash your face and towel dry is a good time to apply the oil.

After washing with warm water your pores will open and damp hairs readily absorb that lovely beard oil. important tip: Make sure you have thrown some warm water over your face rather than cold as it will help to open your pores.

Also try to avoid using cheap shampoos, body washes or conditioners that will strip your beard of it's natural oils.

-Pour a small amount of oil into the palm of your hand (start with a 1cm diameter pool or 2-3 drops.)

How much oil to use

Although 2-3 drops is the average amount to use, how many drops to use depends on the length of your beard and how dry it is. For really short beards or stubble length a single drop is probably enough. Then a really long beard may need around 6 drops or more.

-Rub you hands together so it thinly covers you palms and fingers, then run your hands through your beard in the direction it grows. Then starting at the bottom of your chin, work around the beard and massage into the skin. Apply more oil if required.

-When you've applied enough, the beard should be fully coated and feel softer immediately. Use a comb and make your beard and mustache look presentable and help spread the oil some more. Don't worry if it feels a little greasy when its applied because the oil is specially formulated to quickly absorb into the beard and facial hair.  

-Give the beard 5-10 minutes to absorb the oil before adding any further products.

How often to use beard oil

Many are unsure as to how often they should put oil in their beard, indeed many people wonder should i use beard oil everyday? The accepted rule is to apply beard oil twice per day, first thing in the morning and then evening or bedtime.

A good time is after your morning shower, apply beard oil to your face. Then after you get home or just before bed.

In the morning apply oil after you have had a wash or shower and preferably when your skin has had warm water applied to it.

Then add some beard oil at night so that it can work it's magic overnight. Use beard oil before bed after your wash or shower so that it can infuse all that goodness into your beard and skin while you sleep.

If your beard is unconditioned or dry then applying beard oil during the day is fine as well. If you have a midday swim or shower then maybe splash on a little extra then. Just take it as it comes and remember everyone is a little different. Also use a beard comb to help spread that oil easier.
